Curriculum Writer for the Norfolk Agreed Syllabus 2019

Teacher Trainer in RE and Philosophy

REQM - Gold Award

I am a Norwich based RE teacher specialising in Key Stage 2 Philosophy teaching. As the new Chair of the Norfolk SACRE, sitting on committee B, I am an enthusiastic speaker on philosophy in schools. To support the subject's growth and wider understanding I have produced a training programme to give teachers a 'Crash Course' in Philosophy.

The Norfolk Agreed Syllabus is a real 'game-changer' and places huge demands on the teacher in terms of the subject knowledge at KS2. If you are feeling overwhelmed then this is the place to start. Using tried and tested philosophy lesson plans you, your children and then rest of your team can take that first step into making philosophy part of your curriculum.

A 'Philosophy Crash Course' is available now - please see our courses page. After a successful session training Diocesan schools I have prepared a training programme designed for KS2 that can be delivered as a 2 hour twilight or afternoon inset.  If you or your school are interested in enhancing your curriculum with a subject that focuses on deeper thinking skills as well as knowledge please bookmark this site for details.

The course covers finding out what philosophy is, as well as covering important examples of Christian Philosophy suitable for Key Stage 2 pupils (ages 7 - 11).  The course has been updated to include material for KS1. This is the first of a series of training events that will introduce teachers to philosophical traditions found in the major religions.

If you need help teaching Ontology or explaining Aristotle then please make contact me on Twitter or click the email button on the home page for details.

The Philosophy Crash Course will be presented 'Online' via Zoom or MS Teams.

Please see courses page for more details.
